Wirral Independent Living Services Ltd
is currently viewed as a phase 2 service within the socially excluded
pathway model. We provide supported accomodation for adults with a
history of substance and/or alcohol misuse & aim to provide service
users with a support programme which will identify needs and ensure that
skills are developed in order to be able to acheive desired outcomes to
work towards independent living within a 15 month time scale.
We currently have two projects that come under the Supporting People service. These are both situated in Wallasey at King Street & Seabank Road.
service encourages & promotes service user engagement not only with
WILS but also outside specialist agencies in order to be pro-active in
acheiving short & long term goals.
a phase 2 provider we are committed to provideing support which best
meets the needs of our service users with a holistic approach in order
to reduce the potential for repeat incidence of homelessness. In view of
this we are supporting service users to develop the necessary life
skills to be able to obtain and sustain an independent tenancy. We aim
to make the transition from supported housing to independent living as
stress free as possible & by using the Outcome Star to promote more
effective keyworking we feel that this is a realistic & acheivable
outcome for many of our service users. As our client group is defined as
alcohol/substance misuse we aim to work in close partnership with
alcohol/substance based treatment services such as Wirral Alcohol
Service, ARCH Initiatives, Wirral Drug Service etc.
