Supporting People

WILS is currently viewed as a phase 2 service within the socially excluded pathway model. We provide supported accomodation for adults with a history of substance and/or alcohol misuse & aim to provide service users with a support programme which will identify needs and ensure that skills are developed in order to be able to acheive desired outcomes to work towards independent living within a 15 month time scale.

We currently have two projects that come under the Supporting People service. These are both situated in Wallasey at King Street & Seabank Road.

Our service encourages & promotes service user engagement not only with WILS but also outside specialist agencies in order to be pro-active in acheiving short & long term goals.

As a phase 2 provider we are committed to provideing support which best meets the needs of our service users with a holistic approach in order to reduce the potential for repeat incidence of homelessness. In view of this we are supporting service users to develop the necessary life skills to be able to obtain and sustain an independent tenancy. We aim to make the transition from supported housing to independent living as stress free as possible & by using the Outcome Star to promote more effective keyworking we feel that this is a realistic & acheivable outcome for many of our service users. As our client group is defined as alcohol/substance misuse we aim to work in close partnership with alcohol/substance based treatment services such as Wirral Alcohol Service, ARCH Initiatives, Wirral Drug Service etc.
